Dear Charlie,

Welcome to another letter I’ll never send. This time I’m writing it on the back of a piece of parchment I used to map out the plantings for Greenhouse Six. I’m settling into my life at Hogwarts all right. I know Professor Sprout will be missed, but I’m happy to fill her shoes here at Hogwarts as the Herbology prof. Me a professor. Can you beat that? Ha!

Anyway, I’m writing because I need to vent a little. Your dear little sister is trying (repeatedly) to fix me up. I keep telling her I’m not ready to date yet, but I don’t tell her why, exactly. I’m sure she can guess it’s because I’m not over my last relationship (that’s you, if you weren’t sure). What Ginny probably can’t guess is that I’m only attracted to men. Because she fixed me up last night with a beautiful young woman with a fondness for roses. Perfect except for the fact that she’s not, you know, you.

I can’t imagine what she’d say if I told her I prefer to take it up the arse from a sexy ginger dragon keeper. I wish you could have kept me.
