Day 5 - It's Just Lust - Snape/Lupin

Author's Notes: 5 Day …yes! And I even used two of the prompts imagine that!

Their adventure into voyeurism was short lived. Tonk was just shortening and returning her hair to its currently favoured magenta colour. She shrugged on her auror robe and slipped from view. Sirius was momentarily visible asleep on the bed before the mirror went dark.

"So it's activated my motion." Severus stated.

"I think it might have originally been used to watch the children within the house." Remus added.

Severus snorted. "This is the Black family we're speaking about. According to Regulus they were a fairly paranoid bunch."

Remus shrugged. "Would you come with me to my room?"

Here it was the thing he had actually come for, besides his delivery. Why did it seem so contrived? Why was his brain working at all?

"Severus?" Remus prompted.

Severus nodded.

They walked to the end of the hall. Remus ushered him in and closed the door. The room had ridiculous satin curtains and mismatched linens. The werewolf was obviously colourblind.

"No mirrors here." He pointed out. "Please have a seat, Severus."

There was only one chair, before he could appear too indecisive he took it.

Remus perched on the edge of the bed. "I don't know how to have this conversation with you."

Severus stiffened his spine and made certain his face was bland. He was about to be dumped and he couldn't actually say they were an item.

"I tried all of last year to interest you in spending some time with me. Invitations for drinks, tea, book readings, Muggle films, concerts…" Remus rolled his hand around and around. "I could go on, but I'm certain you remember and you weren't interested."

Of course, I wasn't interested it. You weren’t really interested. You were just attempting to divert my attention from finding Black, he shouted inside his head.

"So two months ago, I went with a different tactic. You were leaning against a wall and I couldn't resist. And when I pinned you up against it and I kissed you. You responded. Then I pushed a little further." Remus paused. "We ended up in your bed."

This wasn't what he had expected, but Severus remained still.

"I'd like it…us to be more than just well sex. I mean, I'll take what you're willing to give me." Remus took a deep breath. "I think we could be good together, we have similar interests…there are many things. Now, I'm just rambling. Simply put the sex is great and if that's all it is for you so be it. If you're interested in something more, I'd like to explore that with you. I know I have just put you on the spot and you don't have to say anything right now." For the first time since he began speaking he looked away from Severus.

Severus was stunned and a quill pen could have knocked him right out of the chair. He didn't say anything for a moment because he didn't know what to say. A mad chuckle almost escaped him as he wondered if someone had polyjuiced Remus as a prank. Things he wanted rarely worked out.

I liked this one so much: the way you started in the middle of the transaction, the slow build, the cautious way they both store away their hearts to keep from being trampled. One of them had to cut through the ambiguity, and of course that one was Remus. Hoping Severus knows a good thing when he sees it. Thanks for sharing.
